Raleigh County Memorial Airport Industrial Park Site Preparation
The Airport Industrial Park Site Preparation project is being implemented by the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority and is necessary to provide an industrial park in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The project will expand the western side of the Airport Industrial Park by an estimated 105 acres. The project will provide a projected total of 16 business sites of varying size that will be available for a variety of business development opportunities. The project is located approximately two miles east of the City of Beckley and less than a mile north of the Airport Road exit of Interstate 64. There are currently 24 businesses located within the developed eastern side of the airport and five businesses are located on the western side of the industrial park, with the FedEx Distribution Terminal the largest employer. The FedEx Distribution Terminal is reported to have 120 employees. The Airport Industrial Park project will require approximately 900,000 cubic yards of total excavation, including the removal of usable topsoil and cut/fill quantities. The project will also require the construction of the following list of utilities and infrastructure:
- 2,100 linear feet of access roads to various development sites
- 3,000 linear feet of utility trench (electric & communications)
- 3,000 linear feet of gas line
- 1,500 linear feet of water line
- 2,400 linear feet of gravity sewer
- 15 sewer manholes
- 500 linear feet of force main (sewer)
- 1 primary sewer lift station
